Honouring outstanding Zimbabweans in the Western Cape

Zimbabwe Excellence Awards: Red Carpet Affair

The inaugural 2nd edition of the Cape Town Zimbabwe Excellence Awards preparations is at an advanced stage. The nominees were announced at a glamorous event last week in Cape Town.
We are pleased to have received a large number of nominations this year proof that the event is gaining momentum and that people are embracing it.
The red carpet event still remains committed to its cause which is to bring people together, to recognise and acknowledge individuals and companies that are flying the Zimbabwe and South African flags high.
Despite challenges of operating businesses in the diaspora, these individuals and companies have continued demonstrating resilience and building successes in their selected projects and ventures. The awards seek to honour these individuals who continue to play a positive role and contributing to the economy of the city of Cape Town.
The awards also aim to encourage and inspire other Zimbabwean nationalities to continue thriving for success.
This year we introduced a voting system different from last year where judges came up with winners and the fact that the system allows the people to vote for individuals based on their profiles allows for wide participation from all walks of life.
The voting system does not show real time results contrary to what people might think as it defeats the whole purpose and kills the anxiety that people will have thereby rendering the event useless.
This year we introduced a few more categories to make the awards more representatives such as the Directors award for best matriculants , the young upcoming entrepreneur of the year as well as the music/artist/group of the year award. We have also renamed our entertainment category to Palmer T Vushe Entertainment Personality of the year award in honour of our young soul who passed on early February and was also the youngest nominee of the same category at the age of 21.
Sponsors to the event include Mukuru Money Transfer, Impress Clothing, Shamstone Production, Uhuru Training, Maps Graphics, Ethelic Boutique, AV Studios, Standard Film, ACT Foods,
